Are you ready for some football? If you’re like millions of people across the country, you’ve been waiting patiently for the start of college football. You’ve cleaned out your garage, stocked up on burgers and dogs, and scheduled weddings, baby showers, and birthday celebrations around your team’s schedule.
But did you confirm HOW you plan to watch games?
With so many games playing simultaneously, it’s not a foregone conclusion that you’ll be able to switch on the TV and your team will be playing. The good news is there are a number of great options that will allow you watch your team anywhere on any device:
- Hulu Live – Hands down the best option if it meets your budget. For $69/month, you’ll get access to every local channel including NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox Sports, ESPN, and SEC Network as well as great movie channels and original content from Hulu. You don’t need a cable provider and you can cancel after the season.
- ESPN – You need a cable provider to stream ESPN, but you’ll have access to tons of games. Another option is ESPN + which, for $75/year, allows you to watch “select live events and college sports.” Contrary to its name, it’s not all the ESPN channels “plus” something additional. It’s a separate service, so research their offerings before committing.
- Fubo TV – New to the game, Fubo broadcasts live TV over the internet with no cable provider required. There are no contracts, you can cancel any time, and every account comes with cloud storage (in case you want to record a game and watch it later). Packages range from $70 to $100.
- Sling TV – Similar to Fubo, you can stream Sling channels without cable. Packages are a bit cheaper and are very customizable; you can add a College Football Package or individual channels without having to bump up to a whole new package.
If all of this seems like too much, there are two tried and true methods to lock in your game: buy an antenna for about $20 or head to your local sports bar! Whatever you decide, make sure to check local listings for potential blackouts and do a trial run before the game to make sure you’re logged in and ready to roll. Go team!
